I have been an intuitive abstract painter for years, but I was intrigued by Kat's class. After watching the demos, I decided to give interiors a whirl. I have always been intimidated by painting from reference and didn't think I could paint anything really realistic. Ironically, by focusing on little abstract shapes and imagining Kat's voice telling me to "notice and respond," I was slowly able to watch a scene come to life before my eyes. It was incredibly satisfying and encouraged me to be present in a different way, just "noticing and responding." I'm currently in the process of moving, and painting the interiors has become a meditation for me to reflect on my home. I am also interested to see how the lessons learned here will reflect in my other abstract work. I'm so grateful for this class. It has been an absolute delight!
